The Schramm was first brought into our fleet in 2006 for Bulk Diamond Sampling projects which it is well suited for. In order to work in extreme cold climates, Foundex built and designed an entire Arctic enclosure around the drill and the Kimberlite recovery system. This unit is capable of drilling a 24” diameter hole to excess of 1,100 feet in 50°c temperature without any production delays.
The drilling system is skid mounted and can be positioned and set up in a single shift. The drill rig is also equipped with a Drilling Parameter Recorder (DPR) to provide required data to the client. The drill can be easily disassembled and transported in a Hercules aircraft for access to remote locations.
